Influential Leadership - Growth
We all know that we need to continue to grow if we want to be good leaders. But, just as importantly as our own growth, is the ability of those you are leading to grow along with you. If we don’t create an environment that allows others the freedom to fail and grow, then you’re shorting yourself as well as your team members. How do we encourage those around us to grow? We learn to speak their language.
Questions to ponder:
Do you know the animal personality type (Monkey, Lion, Camel, Turtle) of those that you lead, and those that directly lead you? What are they?
Think of one person that you lead, either professionally or personally, who’s personality type you know. How would you communicate with this person about a job or task that you need them to get done for you?
How can you make an intentional effort to remind yourself to speak the language of others that you want to influence?
